Alternatives to final exam
26Nov07
Here is some instruction regarding the assignments for this course.
- It is possible to pass the course by active participation in the lectures (max. 2 absences allowed) and successful pass in the final examination (it will include small, synthetic essay assignments based on the lecture series)
- If you have been absent from three or more of the lectures, but been participating in some of them, it is possible to participate in the final exam, but an extra essay assignment is also then required
- For the extra essay, you can pick some of the three books listed in Hypermedia P2 requirements (see: http://www.uta.fi/hyper/opetus/opetussuunnitelma.php)
- The essay needs to be c. 5 pages (1000-2000 words) in length
- For general instruction on essay writing, see e.g. these guidelines from Sociology: http://www.uta.fi/laitokset/sosio/opetus/essee.html
- Mark the essay with P2 course title, address to prof. Frans Mäyrä, print the final proof-read essay and either bring it to Hypermedia Laboratory office, or send via internal mail directly to prof. Mäyrä (do not send email attachments!)
- If you do not participate to the lectures and into the final examination, three essays will be required, one per each book. Otherwise, follow similar instructions.
